Rhone Retreat, a beautiful property built in the early 1800’s, offers a glimpse of life in a quaint South France village surrounded by numerous vineyards, historical sites and activities. You can fill you days with :

- Relax by the pool and enjoy the gardens within our stone walls. .
- Drive to historic Palais des Papes in Avignon.
- St. Victor la Coste ruins.
- Pont du Gard (Roman Aqueducts).
The award winning Marjolet vineyard, family-owned for five generations, directly across the street, offers an opportunity for you to meet the wine maker and visit the ‘cave’ for a wine test session.
Dine outside on one of the numerous shaded terraces; BBQ arbor complete with fully equipped summer kitchen, relax by the pool in the hammock, enjoy the chaise lounges or schedule a massage with our owner/therapist.
The sparkly swimming-pool (5x10m) is surrounded by the gardens and set with sun beds, hammocks and an outdoor shower.
Wi-Fi throughout the property and computer/printer available in the office.
A library is available in the main house.
Indoors are striclty non-smoking.
Bedding and bathroom towels are supplied in the cottages.
Groceries can be pre-arranged on request.
Parking space is available on the property and closed by an electric gate.
Born in the Seychelles Islands, Ken Jourdan, owner and proprietor of Rhone Retreat, grew up on islands throughout the world. His diverse childhood experiences gave him an appreciation for all cultures and for a lifestyle that promotes health and wellbeing on an individual basis.
Graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Food and Nutrition, Ken furthered his desire to improve the lives of his clients by attending the CORE Institute of Massage Therapy. With these certifications, Ken moved to Telluride, Colorado where he was a staff Massage Therapist at The Peaks Spa and Resort for three years. During that time he also developed a private massage clientele.
Moving back to the south US Ken worked with the British Boxing Team during the 1996 Atlanta, GA Olympics before settling in Destin, FL where he continued to build his private clientele until his move to Europe in the fall of 2001.
Immersion classes in French while living in Paris and Toulouse, France then in Spanish while living in Barcelona, Spain have served Ken well as he explored the country and eventually purchased the property he has renovated to make Rhone Retreat a true destination vacation.
REECECLUSE COTTAGE :
The cottage comprises of a spacious and elegant room (40m²), a kitchen and a small bathroom. It can accommodate two adults (Queensize double bed) and a child (sofa bed or baby cot on request).
The main room is delightfully decorated with antiques and paintings. It is equipped with a fire-place and a reversible air-conditioning unit. At your disposal : DVD player and television, stereo with CD player and MP3 reader, coffee table books.
The bathroom includes shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen opens onto the main room and is equipped with a refrigerator, a dish-washer, a microwave oven, a gas stove and a kettle.
Dishes, utensils and cleaning material are supplied. The terrace in front of the cottage allows guests to enjoy the garden and the swimming pool.
CORNER COTTAGE :
The downstairs area of this cottage comprises a spacious master bedroom (25m²), aliving room, a kitchen and a bathroom. A second bedroom is located upstairs. The cottage can accommodate up to six adults and three children (extra bed or baby cot on request).
The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with Queensize double bed. The masterbedroom is air-conditionned (reversible unit). The upstairs bedroom can be ventilated by a standing fan. The convertible sofa set in the air-conditioned living room can sleep two adults.
The large bay window allows the light and southern breeze to come in, making spacious living area very pleasant and bringing the outdoors into the cottage. At your disposal : DVD player and television, stereo with CD player, coffee table books.
The bathroom has a large shower, toilet and sink. The open kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a dish-washer, a microwave oven, an electric stove and a kettle. Dishes, utensils and cleaning material are supplied.
The cottage opens onto a private patio pleasantly shaded by a large phoenix palm tree.
